The Business Administration degree provides students with a strong knowledge base across the fundamental disciplines of business: accounting, finance, management, marketing, and operations management/information systems. Graduates possess a mix of business, technical, and essential communication skills required for many management and leadership roles. The Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration is highly desired for a number of coveted professional positions in many industry sectors. Employers place a priority on graduates who have a broad business perspective and the ability to adapt to an ever-changing economic climate. At the David Eccles School of Business, students learn to manage technology and identify entrepreneurial opportunities. They learn the social implications of doing global business and develop the values and ethics to succeed and prosper. The faculty of the David Eccles School of Business are committed to the lifelong learning process, and the curriculum is designed to foster a comprehensive teaching-learning continuum.

Admission Requirements:

All students who apply for and are granted upper-division status are automatically admitted to the Business Administration degree program. Admission to other undergraduate majors in the David Eccles School of Business requires a separate application process and subsequent review.

Current University of Utah pre-business students should apply for upper-division status when they have completed all six pre-business courses, or have completed four and are currently enrolled in the last two pre-business courses. Students who transfer from an in-state institution, have completed an associate of science degree in business, and have satisfied all of their pre-business classes are encouraged to apply for upper-division status prior to attending the University. Admission to upper-division status is conditional upon the successful completion of all pre-business courses. GPAs required for admission vary depending upon the number of applicants, the GPAs of those applicants, and the space available in the Business School.

Additional information about the upper-division application process is available at: http://undergrad.business.utah.edu/form/application-upper-division-status
