The Master of Science in Finance degree is offered for those students whose primary interest lies in the area of finance. The MS Finance offers a general background in finance with emphasis in the areas of corporate finance and investments. In addition, a variety of elective classes allow students to add breadth for their program.
The time required to complete the MS Finance depends upon the student’s background. With an undergraduate degree from a business school nationally accredited by the AACSB, the program can be completed in one year. Students without the pre-requisite coursework will require more time. The maximum time allowed for completion of required coursework is four consecutive calendar years.
Admission requirements for the MS Finance program:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
- 3.0 minimum GPA
- GMAT/GRE Score
- TOEFL/IELTS score (only required for international students)
- Two letters of Recommendation
- Professional Resume
- Application Fee

For program success, students will need to have a solid background in statistics, introductory accounting, micro-economics and corporate finance upon entering the MS Finance program. Based on a review of the applicant’s academic background, students may be required to complete additional course work in these areas prior to the beginning of the program. Our admissions team will work with applicants to provide options to accomplish additional goals efficiently.
Fast Track MS Finance Program / All Business Majors
The MSF Fast Track Application Program was created with the goal of recognizing the academic merits of our best undergraduate business students. For those students maintaining a high GPA and having strong faculty recommendations, this program is available to make the application process more streamlined and reflective of above average performance as an undergraduate business student.
The MSF Fast Track Application Program is open to all undergraduate business majors and minors (not just finance) who have been admitted into upper division status.
Those qualifying for this application program, will earn the right to waive the following MSF application requirements:
- External letters of recommendation
