Minimum Doctorate Hours: 72-72.5

Admission Requirements

  1. Graduate Admissions Application
  2. Official Transcripts of undergraduate and graduate course work
  3. For internation students, a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)

The following information must be submitted to the Department of Nutrition and Integrative Physiology:

  1. A current curriculum vitae
  2. Report of the Graduate Record Exam (verbal, quantiative, and analytical) taken within the past 5 years
  3. A written statement (less than 1000 words) or research experience and interest and long-term career goals.
  4. 3 letters of recommentation from individuals with knowledge of the applicant’s potential for success in a doctoral program.

Degree Requirements

Identical/similar courses taken as part of a Master’s Degree program may be transferred into the PhD curriuculum upon approval of supervisory committee. The program should take 3-5 years for completion.

  • Core Classes - 21 Credits
  • NUTR OR PHYS Core Classes - 9-9.5 Credits
  • Elective Classes - 6 Credits
  • Dissertation Hours - 36 Credits
