Disability Studies Minor

Minimum Minor Hours: 18

Disability Studies teaches about disability, not as an individual deficit, but in terms of physical and social barriers that constrain people.

  • Learn how disability has been defined and viewed over time
  • Value perspectives of people with disabilities
  • Understand disability in contemporary culture
  • Appreciate disability related to the arts, literature & media
  • Experience Community Engaged Learning

Graduation Requirements

  • Students must complete 18 credit hours from three different departments for the minor.
  • Courses for the minor must be at the 3000 level or higher.
  • All courses that fulfill minor requirements must be complete with a C- or better.
  • All courses that fulfill minor requirements must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.00.
