  • A minimum of 18 hours in FCS courses must be completed at the U of U.
  • All major courses must be completed with a C- or better.

Honors in Family, Community and Human Development

Students seeking an HBA and HBS in Family, Community and Human Developments must complete:

  • Students must complete 12 credits of major elective courses, at least 6 of the 12 credits must be at the 5000 level. See advisor for list.

The goal of this requirement is to foster a broader educational base for FCHD majors, consistent with the general aims of a liberal arts degree. Courses from any of the following departments will count towards this requirement:

Anthropology, Economics, Geography, Health Society and Policy, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Health Education and Promotion, Parks Recreation and Tourism,  Communication Science Disorders, Nutrition, Occupational and Recreational Therapies, City and Metropolitan Planning, Business, Accounting, Entrepreneurship and Strategy, Finance, Management, Marketing, Ethnic Studies, Gender Studies, Education, Education Culture and Society, Educational Psychology,  Special Education, Honors, Nursing, Biology, Chemistry, Social Work, Communications, Peace and Conflict Studies, Philosophy, Religious Studies and Gerontology

This requirement is waived with the completion of a second major, minor, or certificate from any department. All courses must be completed with a C- or better.
