Marketing is an organizational function and a set of processes for creeating, communicating, and delivering value to customers. Individuals with marketing backgrounds help organizations identify and satisfy customer needs using startegic thinking, business acumen, and carefully designed communications. Marketing majors study diverse topics such as market research, consumer behavior, advertising, and international marketing as well as learn how to build brands that people want.
Our department has an active internship program and a wide range of employement opportunties available to marketing students and graduates.
Students wishing to apply to the Marketing Major should submit an Application for Major Status in Marketing.
- Completed all pre-business courses
- Hold Upper Division status
- Completed with a grade of B- or higher
- Have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.2*
*Students with cumulative GPAs between 3.0-3.19 will be individually considered on a case-by-case basis. Cumulative GPAs below 3.0 will not be considered for the major.
