Admission Requirements

Auditions are required for this major. Students must be admitted to the University of Utah before they can be formally accepted into the major.

Graduation Requirements

Entering first-year students  must complete at least 79 credits of DANC courses at the University of Utah. Transfer students, if entering the BFA Program as a sophomore, must complete at least 63 credits of DANC courses at the University of Utah. All majors courses must be completed with a “C-” or better. Technique placement for Sophomore, Junior, and Senior years is determined by the Department of Modern Dance faculty. Students must advance to at least DANC 3310 and DANC 3320, Level III Modern Dance Technique, in order to graduate.

Students who complete the Honors Degree requirements AND maintain a 3.5 gpa will recieve the Honors Degree (H.B.S or H.B.A.) designation on their diploma.
