Description

Many communities today face systemic challenges related to economic instability, environmental change, and access issues to healthcare, education, and other opportunities. This course introduces theoretical and practical approaches to community-based work. Students explore frameworks of leadership, asset-based community development, and collective action, and engage in a project that addresses a community-identified issue. Through structured reflection and engagement, students develop an understanding of their individual civic values, group dynamics, and ethical community partnerships. Emphasis is placed on systems thinking, leadership development, and effective collaboration within varied community contexts.
