ME EN5650

The goals of this course are to provide students the capability of (1) developing a strong physical and conceptual understanding of heat transfer processes and (2) applying the obtained knowledge to the analysis, modeling, and design of heat transfer processes in various engineering problems of current importance. This course covers the fundamentals of heat transfer (conduction, radiation, and convection) in greater depth and complexity than the undergraduate heat transfer course, particularly subjects that are not included or are treated lightly in the undergraduate course.

Prerequisites: 'C' or better in ME EN 3650 AND Major Status in Mechanical Engineering AND ME EN 2-5XXX Eligible (See Admission Requirements) AND NOT ME Advising Hold.
