Description
This course is designed in three distinct components in the understanding of recreational therapy’s role in the promotion of health and wellness: Health, from a population health perspective and the role of RT in an integrated healthcare delivery system; Leisure, the use of recreation and play in creating a healthy population; Adaptive recreation, sport, and fitness, and the promotion of health among individuals with disabilities. The course will also provide the student with the opportunity to engage in a community-based initiative. This will allow the recreational therapy student the opportunity to directly contribute to the health and wellness of the population.
