NURS6340 - Hospital Medicine (2 cr)

College of NursingNU - College of Nursing

Description

The Hospital Medicine course uses an active learning curriculum through simulation to help students develop critical thinking, reasoning, and judgment. It introduces students to simulated cases where they act as clinicians and model the process of diagnosing and managing patients. Cases are hospital-based and designed to challenge students to develop clinical reasoning skills, think critically, apply evidence-based resources, be sensitive to the social determinants of health, and problem-solve to manage hospitalized patients with multiple comorbidities. The course also provides instruction in OR preparation techniques, interpersonal relations, medical documentation, and oral case presentation (practice in OR skills will be provided in the Clinical Boot Camp following your didactic training).
