Description
This course teaches the leadership, management, and interpersonal skills essential for success in today’s technical and collaborative engineering work environments. Through an exploration of strategic planning, personality types, emotional intelligence, motivation theory, teamwork dynamics, implicit biases, hiring and promotions, students will learn how to effectively lead engineering teams. Drawing on influential leadership literature, students will gain theory, tools and techniques to become impactful leaders. Class sessions will combine lectures, discussions, presentations, interactive activities, and real-world examples to prepare students to excel in multidisciplinary teams and dynamic organizations.
