Evidence-Based Practice and Research in Recreational Therapy

Description

Recreational therapists need to know how to search for evidence-based interventions and discern quality research to guide their decision-making process for evidence-based interventions. Therefore, students will be introduced to the research process with a strong focus on evidence-based practice. Students will gain knowledge in methodological, technical, and ethical demands of doing applied or practitioner-led research. Students will conceptualize and design a research project and learn specific research skills that will enable them to deal effectively with many of the research and evaluation issues they may encounter when implementing evidence-based practice.
