EDU5801 - TECI Capstone (3 cr)

College of EducationED - College of Education

Description

This capstone course is the final requirement to complete the Elementary Education BS/BA Emphasis in Teaching for Educational Innovation, Community Impact, and International Engagement. It is intended to provide a signature and unifying experience for all students in this emphasis, and to include a primary assessment instrument for evaluating student proficiency in the program’s learning outcomes. During the capstone course, students reflect on the skills, knowledge, and habits of mind they have acquired throughout their teaching degree and consider how they will build on that learning to transition to the next phase of their education or career. In particular, the capstone course will be a vehicle in which students are asked to synthesize what they have learned from a wide range of interdisciplinary electives included in the emphasis and apply that learning to problems of teaching practice in community, international, and alternative contexts.
