Description
This course covers a range of foundational and advanced topics in manufacturing automation, including electrical systems, automation technologies, instrumentation and control systems, and production techniques. Students will use a variety of industrial automation devices, such as, sensors, actuators, motors, PLC controllers, circuit breakers, contactors, and overload relays to perform digital logic control and continuous process control with digital and analog signals. The lab session will help students gain mastery of PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, SCADA and communication protocols including Fieldbus, Modbus and PROFIBUS.
