ECE1231 - Hon C&S I and Intro (5 cr)

Electrical and Computer EngineeringEN - J & M Price College of Eng.

Description

This is the accelerated course that covers and expands upon the introductory topics of Circuits and Systems, providing all foundational content for circuit design and system development using electrical and computer engineering principles. Students learn to analyze, design, build, test, and debug circuits in a hands-on, active learning environment supported by faculty and TAs for high engagement. The first half covers DC sources with linear components; the second focuses on AC sources with time-dependent and nonlinear components such as diodes. Op-Amp circuits as building blocks are included throughout. Foundational material is learned and applications are discussed with examples such as electrical circuit design, sensors, signal processing, communications, electromagnetics, control, and embedded systems, preparing students for advanced ECE topics.
