Beginning Japanese I

Description

Restricted to students with no previous formal or informal training in Japanese. Development of proficiency in receptive and productive skills and beginning understanding of Japanese culture. Emphasis on comprehending and producing the language at the sentence level, and handling simple, everyday life situations and familiar topics. An introduction to the writing system will cover hiragana, katakana, and 50 kanji (Chinese characters).
