Understanding Educational Research in Literacy

Description

The purpose of this course is to teach students how to become competent and critical consumers of educational research and to introduce students to the variety of educational research methodologies. The focus will be on understanding components of research method and evaluating sections in research reports. We will use empirical studies using diverse methodologies that have been influential in the literacy field over the last century as well as studies that seek to provide teachers with insight and knowledge about teaching and learning.
