Undergraduate Program

Finance students learn how to value projects, companies, and securities. They also study how individuals and businesses efficiently allocate financial resources, invest, and raise capital. Finance majors may participate in a variety of experiential learning opportunities, including the Emerging Finance Professionals (EFP) program, Finance Career Conference, Student Investment Fund, Finance Club, Blockchain Club, Real Estate Club, Women in Finance, UVF II, and Week on Wall Street. Students also have the option to pursue an honors degree in finance, the first departmental honors degree offered at the Eccles School. Ranking among the top 30 universities in the world in research, the Department of Finance is home to world-class faculty and programs, preparing students for what’s next in finance.

Graduate Program

Modern finance is changing rapidly, and tomorrow's financial leaders must be able not only to react, but also to redefine their own institutions. The Master of Science in Finance (MSF) program at the David Eccles School of Business is designed to develop innovative thinkers who will lead the next generation of financial and investment managers.

The Master of Science in Finance (MSF) program is ranked among the top programs in the US.  The program is designed to prepare students for successful careers in financial management and investment management. Completion of the program requires 30 semester credits. Designed for maximum flexibility, our MSF program offers multiple schedule options for a better work-school-life balance – including online and in-person classes.

The MSF program is proud to be affiliated with the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute, a global leader of the investment profession. Students receive the designation after passing three levels of testing administered by the CFA Institute, and the MSF program includes two courses that cover material in the Level I CFA exam.

The David Eccles School of Business finance faculty is among the nation's best. Our professors are changing how the world thinks about finance; come let them show you some new ways to think.
