Welcome to the Department of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training. The department offers three degree opportunities in a vibrant learning environment, active clinics, and is recognized for its prolific and nationally ranked research. The existing degrees include: a Master of Athletic Training (MAT); a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) offering three pathway options; and a Doctor of Philosophy in Rehabilitation Sciences (PhD). The department benefits from its location within a nationally recognized Health Sciences Center and its association with a major athletic conference (BIG 12). Research focuses on recovery from injury, the study of movement dysfunction and movement enhancement, and improving the quality and value of health care delivery. The department is in the College of Health at the University of Utah, located in the foothills of the beautiful Wasatch Mountains.
