The mission of the Department of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training is to develop socially responsible health care professionals and scientists who advance preventative and rehabilitation clinical practice and knowledge to meet changing societal needs of Utah and beyond. Overview

Welcome to the Department of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training. The department offers three different degree opportunities (MAT, DPT, and PhD) in a vibrant learning environment, active clinics, and is recognized for its high quality and nationally ranked research. The department benefits from its location within a nationally recognized Health Sciences Center and its association with a major athletic conference (BIG 12). Research focuses on recovery from injury, the study of movement dysfunction and movement enhancement, and improving the quality and value of health care delivery. The department is in the College of Health at the University of Utah, located in the foothills of the beautiful Wasatch Mountains.
