Program Description
The Construction Engineering curriculum provides a hybrid education consisting of a strong civil engineering foundation coupled with experiential learning in architecture and construction practices. This comprehensive approach includes initial design though the completion of the exterior building facade.
Program Admissions Requirements
Direct Admission: Incoming Construction Engineering freshman who are offered direct admission into the College of Engineering will also be directly admitted to the Construction Engineering program.
Pre-Engineering Status: Matriculated students who are admitted as Pre-Construction Engineering or Pre-Engineering are permitted to enroll in 1000-level engineering courses. Major Status is required to enroll in the Department's higher level courses. Advancement to Major Status is required to graduate with a degree in Construction Engineering.
Major Status: Students with an Engineering Grade Point Average (EGPA) of 2.50 or higher may apply for Major Status upon completion of certain courses. Please fill out our application to apply for Major Status.
Upper-Division Transfer Credit: A maximum of 3 courses (and their accompanying labs) at the 3000-level may be transferred into the program (9-12 credits max). No technical electives or additional upper-division credits will be accepted.
