Program Description
M.S. Non-Thesis Degree. The Master of Science, non-thesis degree is intended for those who wish to complete further education beyond the Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering but who do not wish to pursue the research oriented Master of Science degree. A minimum of 30 graduate credit hours is required. Coursework must be approved by a three person supervisory committee- selected, and contacted by the student.
M.S. Thesis Degree. The Master of Science thesis degree allows for specialization in a particular academic area within Civil Engineering. This degree requires a minimum of 30 credit hours, including 6 credit hours of thesis research and the writing and defense of a Master's Thesis. Coursework must be approved by a three person supervisory committee- selected, and contacted by the student.
Program Admissions Requirements
All application materials must be submitted through the FutureU application system.
Unofficial Transcripts are required from all higher education institutions attended.
Three References. Provide the contact information for three (3) individuals who can provide information about you as a student and/ or a working professional.

Some applicants are required to submit proof of English Language Proficiency. Details regarding this requirement and exemptions are outlined in detail here.
Optional: Graduate Entrance Exam (GRE): GRE scores are optional. If provided, the examination date must be within five (5) years of the application submission date.

Learn about the minimum required coursework. This coursework must be completed by all students pursuing an MS in Civil Engineering. Applications may be submitted while remedial coursework is still in progress.
