Program Description

Our Certificate Program in Financial Planning is designed to educate future financial planners and fulfill the education component for obtaining CFP certification. There is an acute shortage of young financial planners, according to CFP Board. Financial planning jobs are expected to grow at a much higher pace than that of all occupations, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The need for personal financial planning expertise is greater than ever.

Our program is registered with CFP Board. The programs meet specific criteria set forward by CFP Board for educating individuals who wish to fulfill the education component for obtaining CFP certification. Individuals who meet the CFP Board's education requirement are eligible to sit for the CFP Certification Examination. Successful completion of the education and examination components completes two of the four core prerequisites to obtain CFP certification.

The interdisciplinary program is part of our Financial Planning Program, which is registered with the CFP Board. Successful graduates are qualified to become CFP professionals. The purposes are to help students develop a career path in the financial advisory industry and to enhance their learning experience. This certificate program supports the University's commitment of 'Promoting Student Success to Transform Lives.'
