Program Description

The University of Utah’s School of Dance, consistently recognized as one of the top programs in the country and accredited by the National Association of Schools of Dance (NASD), offers a Minor in Dance. The minor is an 18-credit program that combines intellectual exploration, technical discipline, and creative investigation, preparing students prepares students for careers in performance, choreography, and teaching. Admission requires an audition, and the curriculum includes courses in movement, technique, improvisation, musical theory, cultural dance forms, and kinesiology.

Program Admissions Requirements

Admission into the School of Dance is a two-step process: 1) Submit an application for admission to the University through the Admissions Office, and 2) Submit an audition application and audition for the School of Dance either in person or by video.
