Program Description

The online Master of Science in Construction Engineering program is designed to equip students with advanced knowledge and skills to lead and innovate in the construction industry. This interdisciplinary program blends engineering principles with management strategies to address complex challenges in modern construction practices.

Students will gain expertise in areas such as project planning and scheduling, sustainable construction practices, field operations management, and advanced construction technologies. The curriculum emphasizes problem-solving, critical thinking, and hands-on applications to prepare graduates for leadership roles in the industry.

The online MS in Construction Engineering program is ideal for individuals with a background in engineering, construction, or related STEM fields who aspire to advance their careers and make significant contributions to the construction industry.

Program Admissions Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Construction, Building, or Architectural Engineering: A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Other Engineering Disciplines (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Mining, etc.): A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required, along with at least three years of professional experience in the construction industry.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM Discipline: A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required, along with at least five years of professional experience in the construction industry.

  • Non-Engineering Backgrounds (e.g., business or related fields): Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and at least five years of construction industry experience. These applicants will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis by the admissions committee.

Application Requirements

All application materials must be submitted through the FutureU application. Paper copies will not be accepted.

  • References: Contact information for three (3) individuals who can provide academic and professional references.

Some applicants will be required to submit proof of English language proficiency. Details regarding applicants required to submit, and those exempt from this are detailed here.  

Optional:  

  • Graduate Record Examination (GRE): GRE scores are optional but must be from a test taken within five years of the application submission date if provided.
