Program Description

Nuclear Engineering offers a coursework-only degree at the Master's level. Students who wish to pursue research should apply to the Doctoral Program in Nuclear Engineering. A minimum of 30 graduate credit hours are required. Coursework must be approved by a three person supervisory committee- selected, and contacted by the student.

Program Admissions Requirements

Applicants to a graduate degree in Nuclear Engineering should hold a Bachelors Degree in a STEM field, and have completed a minimum of three semesters of calculus (through Differential Equations). Nuclear engineering commonly attracts students from a wide variety of disciplines including: chemistry, chemical engineering, physics, materials science and more.

Application materials must be submitted through the FutureU application system.  

  • Unofficial Transcripts are required from all higher education institutions attended.

  • Three References. Provide the contact information for three (3) individuals who can provide information about you as a student and/ or a working professional.

  • Resume or CV 

  • Personal Statement 

  • Some applicants are required to submit proof of English Language Proficiency. Details regarding this requirement and exemptions are outlined in detail here.  

Optional: Graduate Entrance Exam (GRE): GRE scores are optional. If provided, the examination date must be within five (5) years of the application submission date.
