Program Description

This interdisciplinary certificate offers students a unique blend of journalism and religious studies, preparing them to report thoughtfully and accurately on religious issues in a complex global landscape. Students will develop core skills in news writing, digital storytelling, and media ethics and law, equipping them to craft compelling narratives across multiple platforms while adhering to professional standards.

Simultaneously, students will explore religions around the world, gaining a broad understanding of diverse belief systems and practices. Through disciplinary approaches to studying religion, they will learn to analyze religious phenomena critically and contextually. This certificate is ideal for those interested in careers in journalism, media, nonprofit work, or any field where informed, ethical communication about religion is essential.
