This course is a continuation of FINAN 6600 and prepares students for the CFA Level 1 exam by covering the remaining topics and learning outcomes. Students will familiarize themselves with the exam question format and gain insights into the most likely exam content, as CFA Institute does not publish prior exams. The CFA Program, a three-part exam, tests the fundamentals of investment tools, asset valuation, portfolio management, and wealth planning, providing a strong foundation in investment analysis and portfolio management. The University of Utah is part of the CFA Institute University Affiliation Program (UAP), which grants instructors access to the CFA Level 1 learning ecosystem and offers student scholarships for CFA exam registration. Additionally, the university partners with test prep providers to offer discounted study materials. This course is taught by a CFA charterholder with investment management experience.
