Description

This is an intensive course offered for five days across a two-week period in the Summer semester. Content includes: history of autism, symptom trajectory and outcomes, ASD diagnosis, special education classification, assessment tools and methods (ADOS-2/ADI-R, checklists), and issues pertinent to school and clinic-based services and community support (e.g., occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, and pediatrics/psychiatry). This is the first part of a two-part ASD course. The second part, ED PS 6838, focuses on empirically-based interventions. Student registered for 7836 will have additional assignments and he held to a higher scholastic standard.
