Description
Community-Based Strategies for Social Change focuses on social work practice with organizations and communities, inclusive of diverse and global perspectives. A history of U.S. social movements, and social change is presented with the goal of strengthening students’ commitment to the profession’s value for social justice. Special emphasis is placed on the role of social workers engaged with communities and groups who experience social and economic injustice and structural oppression. Students will explore a wide range of community-based strategies, models, and actions directed at system and social change efforts.
