Description

This graduate-level lecture introduces students to current topics and issues concerning the development of language and literacy in early childhood, spanning from toddler and preschool years to the transition to formal schooling. We will examine linguistic and cognitive building blocks of early literacy, areas/domains of language and literacy development, and how this development may be fostered at home and school during early childhood.
