Social/Behavioral Science Exploration (BF) - GE Course-Level Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the General Education Social and Behavorial Sciences requirement, students will be able to:
Examine: Examine institutions and human behavior through social and behavioral concepts, methods, or theories;
Analyze: Identify diverse perspectives to explore and examine social and behavioral phenomena; and
Apply: Apply discipline-relevant and scientific theories and methods to make inferences about or applications to social and behavioral phenomena at personal, institutional, or cultural levels.
Understanding different developmental and learning theories or perspectives and their educational implications.
Describing the process of normative cognitive, language, social, and emotional learning of adolescents and identifying their developmental and learning tasks.
Identifying the various influences on learning and development, such as biological and sociocultural factors.
Comparing and contrasting developmental theories regarding their views of current issues impacting adolescents.
Becoming aware of appropriate educational practice depending on adolescents’ developmental level and characteristics.
Developing competence in writing for academic educational audiences.
