RECTH6360 - Assess/Doc/Eval RT: PE (3 cr)

Identify the RT process of assessment, treatment planning, implementation, and evaluation concerning the scope and application in individual and group treatment programs (service delivery). (1.a.7; 1.a.22; 1.c.2)

Distinguish problems and limitations in physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual functioning upon independence in life activities including work/school, self-maintenance, and leisure for specific medical, psychiatric, or other disabling conditions treated by recreational therapists. (1.b.3; 1.b.4)

Demonstrate selection of evidence-based or standardized recreational therapy or other relevant allied health assessment instruments used to determine the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social functioning of clients. (1.b.2; 1.b.5)

Determine the goals and mission of the various service settings as determinants for assessment procedures and protocols and treatment/program intervention. (1.b.8; 1.d.1)

Recall the psychometric properties of tests and measurements. (1.b.1)

Formulate a client interview to gather data for client outcomes. (1.b.7)

Write an observation assessment plan to gather data for client outcomes.

Examine the nature and function of documentation procedures and systems related to the client assessment process. (1.b.8)

Describe the principles and processes of interdisciplinary treatment teams. (1.a.13)

Demonstrate the ability to document individual treatment plans, progress notes, discharge, and transition summaries as they relate to assessed goals and objectives, strengths, and problem areas of clients. (1.c.4)

Demonstrate through formative and summative evaluation, examination, and classroom activities the client evaluation process as it relates to assessment. (1.c.4)

Conduct an activity analysis to inform client assessment. (1.c.9)

Recognize the different models of disability including the biopsychosocial impact of activity limitations and restrictions to participation on the client’s health status, self-concept, life activities, independence, and quality of life and how it relates to the assessment process. (1.b.6; 1.h.4.c)
