Description

Derivation of dynamical models of biological systems and their analysis with differential and integral calculus. Discrete-time dynamical systems for growth, breathing, selection, the heart, etc. Differentiation and its applications to stability, approximation of functions, maximization, and limits. Differential equations describing growth, diffusion, and selection, and their solution with integral calculus. Computer lab using R. Recommended prerequisite is (MATH 1050 and MATH 1060) or MATH 1080 with a C or better, an Accuplacer AAF score of at least 276, an ACT math score of at least 28, an SAT math score of at least 650, or an AP AB Calculus score of 3.
