Description
This course integrates evidence-based practice, facilitation and counseling theories, and applied leadership in recreational therapy. Students use the full RT process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—to develop and facilitate client-centered treatment interventions. Emphasis is placed on experiential learning through hands-on facilitation, simulation, and group leadership practice. Students build skills in activity analysis, documentation, and program evaluation while applying ethical and culturally responsive approaches. The course prepares students to translate theory into practice to support therapeutic outcomes in both individual and group treatment settings.
