Social/Behavioral Science Exploration (BF) - GE Course-Level Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the General Education Social and Behavorial Sciences requirement, students will be able to:
Examine: Examine institutions and human behavior through social and behavioral concepts, methods, or theories;
Analyze: Identify diverse perspectives to explore and examine social and behavioral phenomena; and
Apply: Apply discipline-relevant and scientific theories and methods to make inferences about or applications to social and behavioral phenomena at personal, institutional, or cultural levels.
Be able to formulate an argument and express that argument clearly and cogently in writing;
Be able to identify, analyze, and assess information from a variety of sources and perspectives;
Be prepared for entry level positions in the public, private, or nonprofit sectors, or to undertake graduate study in an academic or professional program.
Demonstrate an understanding of fundamental political ideas, institutions, policies, and behavior in the United States, other countries, and internationally;
Demonstrate an understanding of major concepts, theories, and approaches to research in the study of politics;
Possess the research and communication skills necessary to understand and participate in the world of politics;
Show a level of knowledge and critical thinking expected of a major;
