Social/Behavioral Science Exploration (BF) - GE Course-Level Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the General Education Social and Behavorial Sciences requirement, students will be able to:

  • Examine: Examine institutions and human behavior through social and behavioral concepts, methods, or theories;

  • Analyze: Identify diverse perspectives to explore and examine social and behavioral phenomena; and

  • Apply: Apply discipline-relevant and scientific theories and methods to make inferences about or applications to social and behavioral phenomena at personal, institutional, or cultural levels.

Critically evaluate the science of human development (i.e., be wise consumers of research)

Understand the resources needed for healthy human development

Identify and reflect on policies or ethical challenges relating to human development

Communicate principles of human development through oral and written language

Apply developmental concepts to real-world examples and issues.
