We offer three graduate degrees aimed at fostering ethical, purpose-driven leaders for the public, nonprofit, and private sectors.

Master of Public Administration (MPA)

MPA website: mpa.utah.edu

The Master of Public Administration (MPA) combines rigorous scholarship with practical skill development to empower aspiring and continuing professionals to serve and lead for the public good. The program is proudly accredited by the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (NASPAA), the global standard in public service education. The University of Utah MPA is offered in two modalities:

  1. The evening MPA can be completed in two (or more) years and is open to pre and early-career students, as well as working professionals. Students can tailor their MPA education through joint degrees and elective courses.

  2. The Executive MPA offers students with at least five years of relevant professional experience the opportunity to complete their studies in under two years through a combination of weekend and condensed class scheduling.

Master of Public Policy (MPP)

MPP website: mpp.utah.edu

The Master of Public Policy (MPP) combines public policy and economic theory with quantitative research methods to foster the analytical skills needed to address our most pressing problems. The University of Utah MPP is the only degree of its kind in the Utah System of Higher Education. The program equips graduates to research, analyze, and inform public policy advocacy, development, and evaluation. Students can tailor their MPP through joint degrees and elective courses.

M.S. in International Affairs & Global Enterprise (MIAGE)

MIAGE website: miage.utah.edu

The Master of Science in International Affairs and Global Enterprise (MIAGE) degree is a distinctive program designed to help students build the analytical, political, legal, and sociocultural knowledge needed to solve global issues. Our graduates fill competitive roles within international businesses, government agencies, and nongovernmental organizations (NGOs). This demanding interdisciplinary program trains students in the interaction of business, law, economics, and sociology on the global landscape. Students learn strategic and operational skills in addition to numerous other skills necessary for global, industry, and country analysis.
