Program Graduation Requirements

Complete a minimum of 30 master-level credit hoursComplete project or thesis and oral defense within four years from first enrollment in the programComplete economics core courses with a B- or better (ECON 6610, 6620, 6630)Complete all other ECON master courses with a C- or betterMinimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in all course workMaster of Arts degree must also meet the university's language requirement
Fulfill ALL of the following requirements:
Complete ALL of the following Courses:

Complete at least 5 of the following Courses:
AND
Fulfill ALL of the following requirements:

AND
Fulfill ANY of the following requirements:

  • Successful completion, with at least a 3.0 average, of a minimum of 27 hours of approved graduate course work in Economics (and other acceptable areas).

  • Successful completion of the University’s language requirement of one language at standard proficiency (not required for M.S. candidates).

  • Successful completion of a research project, for which 3 credit hours are granted.

  • Successful oral defense of the research project.

OR

  • Successful completion, with at least a 3.0 average, of a minimum of 24 hours of approved graduate course work in Economics (and other acceptable areas)

  • Successful completion of the University’s language requirement of one language at standard proficiency (not required for M.S. candidates).

  • Successful completion of the Master’s thesis, for which 6 credit hours are granted.

  • Successful oral defense of the thesis.
