The Earth and Environmental Science major will prepare students to be leaders across a wide range of fields in the private and public sectors to help tackle major societal and environmental challenges in the 21st century. The major will train them in complex systems analysis, calculus-based quantitative reasoning and thinking, and provide them with a detailed understanding of land, atmosphere, water, and ecosystems. The major is based around a rigorous science core of classes, a set of cohort-building earth and environmental science courses, and a flexible set of emphases and electives.
