Program Description

The Department of Entrepreneurship & Strategy at the David Eccles School of Business offers students multiple opportunities to study entrepreneurship, including a major, minor, certificate, and Lassonde + X. The entrepreneurship major prepares students interested in launching a startup or in leading strategic initiatives within existing organizations. Through our top-ranked and highly experiential curriculum and programming, students learn how to discover and create opportunities, and pursue them through the creation of new products and services. Students will also develop a diverse range of foundational skills necessary to instill an entrepreneurial mindset in any organization. Core entrepreneurship courses include: application and theory of leadership, discovery of market opportunities, design strategy, creation of new business opportunities, testing and validation of business models and venture concepts, getting financing, creation of performance measures, interpretation of data, and marketing. Students also have the opportunity to participate in highly experiential programs and activities offered by the Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute at the Lassonde Studios, which is one of the most innovative and highly ranked entrepreneurship spaces in the world.
