Finance Minor

Program Description

Financial Technology, frequently known as FinTech, is a booming new industry that uses technology to deliver financial services in new ways. The field covers areas as diverse as payment technologies, mobile banking, and cryptocurrency. The program will provide students with an expanded understanding and critical analysis of business problems broadly with an emphasis on financial innovation; students will apply coding and technology to solve financial problems, particularly to increase access to financial services securely quickly, and efficiently. The minor will be open to students from all disciplines.

  • Declared major (excluding the Finance majors)

  • C- or better in FINAN 2140

  • 3.0 or higher University of Utah GPA

  • C- or better in MATH 1050 or higher
