Program Graduation Requirements
Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
A grade of B- or better is required for all graded courses that are counted for the degree.
Pass the Doctoral Qualifying Examination before the end of the second year of the program
Complete a dissertation that demonstrates independent research and contributes significantly toward a better understanding of geology, geophysics, or geological engineering
Successfully defend the dissertation at a final oral examination
Earn at least 40 credits
