Program Description

The mission of the HDSP graduate program in the FCS Department is to facilitate healthy human development and well-being by drawing from multidisciplinary research. Humans learn and develop over the life course within families and larger contexts, including communities, schools, workplaces, and other settings. Understanding these developmental processes requires many disciplinary perspectives, including but not limited to economics, sociology, psychology, health sciences, and political science. The HDSP graduate program prepares students to use such multidisciplinary approaches to understand, critically assess, and conduct research that addresses pressing issues affecting the attainment of human potential and optimal physical, psychological, social, and economic well-being.
