Have knowledge of the primary phases of hazard management (mitigation, preparedness, response, recovery) and the manner by which governments at all levels prepare for and respond to environmental disasters.

Have an understanding of the disproportionate burden faced by marginalized communities regarding environmental hazards and the resulting social inequities that arise.
