Latin American Studies

Be knowledgeable about general concepts, theories, and methods used in the discipline of Latin American Studies;

Be able to communicate orally and through written word in native language;

Be able to evaluate and synthesize research literature on topics within their selected area of expertise;

Be able to undertake research on a selected topic that contributes to knowledge in that area;

Have sufficient ability with a foreign language to apply those skills in the research process;

Be prepared to undertake graduate study at the PhD level.
