Demonstrate knowledge and technical skills in the pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases of testing performed in all major areas of the clinical laboratory including clinical chemistry, hematology, hemostasis, immunology, immunohematology, transfusion medicine, microbiology, molecular diagnostics, and body fluid analysis. This includes the principles and methodologies, performance of assays, problem‐solving, troubleshooting techniques, interpretation and evaluation of clinical procedures and results.

Practice and adhere to established institutional and governmental safety regulations and standards as applicable to the clinical laboratory.

Demonstrate the principles and practices of management, operation, and supervision of a clinical laboratory in adherence to applicable regulatory statutes.

Demonstrate the principles and practices of quality assurance and continuous assessment of quality improvement to ensure reliable patient results.

Practice professional and ethical conduct, including effective and courteous communication, and recognize the need for continuous professional development.

Demonstrate the principles and practices of educational methodologies necessary to train and educate users and providers of laboratory services.

Demonstrate the principles and practices of clinical study design, implementation and dissemination of results.
