DanceMaster of Fine Arts

60 graduate level credit hours
To complete the degree in 2 years, students must register for 15 credits per semester.
All DANC and BALLE courses must be completed with a B- or higher.
All other graduate level credits must be completed with C- or higher.

Thesis

MFA Candidates must complete 6 Thesis credit hours.

Earn at least 6 credits from the following:

Students must complete at least 6 credit hours of thesis work to graduate and may count a maximum of 10 hours of thesis work toward their degree.
Decisions regarding thesis registration must be made in consultation with the Director of Graduate Studies.

AND

Electives

To fulfill elective requirements, students may opt to enroll in graduate courses in BALLE or DANC, or other programs on campus.
Students are encouraged to pursue Graduate Certificates (i.e., Screendance Certificate, Gender Studies Certificate, etc.) that might broaden and inform students’ research interests.

Students should work closely with the Director of Graduate Studies to plan electives and ensure timely degree completion.
