Program Description

The interdisciplinary Middle East Studies program is designed for students seeking to explore the cultures, languages, religious traditions, history, politics, and international relations of the greater Middle East, including the Arab world, North Africa, Turkey, Iran, and adjacent regions like Central and South Asia. Students are strongly encouraged to combine the Middle East Studies Major with majors/minors in another discipline so that upon graduation they have acquired a foundation of career-oriented skills as well as a high degree of global competency. This program is designed to prepare our students for graduate studies or career paths in education, business, translation, law, diplomacy, public affairs, intelligence, the military, national security, non-governmental organizations, and/or international organizations.
