Program Description

Marketing is the process of discovering unmet customer needs and wants, developing products and services to satisfy those needs, and using advertising, promotions, pricing, distribution, personal selling, and customer relationship management to build strong brands that attract and retain customers. The Department of Marketing offers a wide range of courses to prepare students for careers in brand management, advertising, digital marketing, new product development, professional sales, and related marketing fields. Our department has an active internship program and a wide range of employment opportunities available to marketing students and graduates.

Program Admissions Requirements

Students wishing to apply to the Marketing Major should submit an Application for Major Status in Marketing.

  1. Completed all pre-business courses

  2. Hold Upper Division status

  3. Completed BCOR 3040 or MKTG 3010 or MKTG 3011 with a grade of B- or higher

  4. Have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.2*

*Students with cumulative GPAs between 3.0-3.19 will be individually considered on a case-by-case basis. Cumulative GPAs below 3.0 will not be considered for the major.
